In 2003 the Mercy Centre for Ecology and Justice was established.<\/p>\n<p>The Mission of MCEJ is rooted in the ongoing story of creation and in the mandate of the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy. The Mercy Centre for Ecology and Justice provides education, inspiration, leadership and advocacy in the ecological and justice issues facing our world in the 21<sup>st<\/sup> Century<\/p>\n<p>In its beginning years the Mercy Centre for Ecology and Justice operated its office and work space out of different Mercy locations in St. John\u2019s, NL.<\/p>\n<p>From its establishment a vegetable <a href=\"https:\/\/mercycentreforecologyandjustice.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/DSCF1068-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-612 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/mercycentreforecologyandjustice.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/DSCF1068-1-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mercycentreforecologyandjustice.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/DSCF1068-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mercycentreforecologyandjustice.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/DSCF1068-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/mercycentreforecologyandjustice.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/DSCF1068-1-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/mercycentreforecologyandjustice.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/DSCF1068-1-624x416.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>garden was deemed to be an essential component of the Centre.
